Finally!
So, it's been quite a while! I haven't actively worked on any gamedev projects in nearly 3 years now, which kind of blows my mind when I think about it. Of course, I've messed around with some stuff here and there, but my own "writers block" has prevented me from finishing anything.
How could I fix it? I decided to do what I do best ... stress myself out! In other words, I decided to do a personal game jam. I gave myself 48 hours to finish a simple project, anything.
So here I am, 3 days later, past the deadline, uploading this project while mentally exhausted. It's odd coming back to gamedev after so long, because in some ways it feels like things haven't really changed. I still have the same design sensibilities, I haven't forgotten how to program (at all), and my artistic skill is nearly exactly the same. The only thing that has changed is my musical ability, as I have spent most of my free time writing music and releasing albums when I haven't been making any games.
I hope with this project finished, I can go back to older projects that I haven't finished with newfound determination. Game development has always been my passion, and it's good to be back.
(Also, I recorded all the footage of me working on this game, and I'm probably going to upload a timelapse at some point. I'll be sure to let you guys know.)
